Mohammad Moshtari has received the runner-up award for best paper at the Conference of the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS), College of Humanitarian Operations & Crisis Management (HOCM), held in Atlanta this May. In his paper, entitled “Factors Influencing the Horizontal Collaboration Among Humanitarian Organizations: An Empirical Analysis,” he proposes and tests the elements influencing the horizontal collaboration among international humanitarian NGOs, providing a systematic view of the drivers and impediments to collaboration. Mohammad completed his PhD at the Università della Svizzera italiana under the direction of Prof. Paulo Gonçalves. He is now a postdoctoral researcher at the Hanken School of Economics in Finland, investigating the relationships between international humanitarian actors and local NGOs. His project is funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation.
